Dr. Paul Edmonds, DVM

Born and raised in Central Oregon, Dr. Paul’s first horse was a black pony named Diamond. They spent hours riding the BLM and canal trails north of Bend. Little did he know then that his love of horses, adventure, and Central Oregon would lead to opening Black Diamond Equine Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Paul has been a practicing equine veterinarian since 2005. His unique sports medicine approach to treating horses delivers clients and their animals distinct and compassionate care.

Dr. Paul graduated with his DVM from Oregon State University. He met and married his wife, Dr. Caelli, during vet school. After graduating they packed up their horse trailer and moved to Texas to start their careers. Dr. Paul pursued his internship and ACVS surgical residency experience at Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery in Weatherford, Texas.

These days, when he’s not working on horses, you’ll find Dr. Paul coaching his boys youth soccer teams, playing with his tractor, or mending fences on their small family farm.

Dr. Caelli Edmonds, DVM

Co-owner, Dr. Caelli Edmonds, an equine and small animal veterinarian since 2005, brings skillful ownership and management to BDE. Dr. Caelli is a Northwest girl and graduate of Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She’s always loved animals and grew up spending as much time as she could outdoors, in the pool, and showing in 4-H. She and Dr. Paul love calling Central Oregon home.

Dr. Caelli’s internship with Lone Star Park Equine Hospital and work at Burleson Equine in North Central Texas, give her thoughtful understanding of equine best practice. When she’s not busy treating small animals, or helping manage BDE, Dr. Caelli can be found pig farming and enjoying the great outdoors with her husband and two young boys.

Sarah Ferguson

Sarah helps our team both in the field and in the office. She first fell in love with horses as a teenager, working and learning with an Arabian horse trainer in Arizona. Her horse skills, education and artistic skills have made her a great part of the BDE team. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her working on the home she and her husband built, cheering her son, or hiking, biking, and riding her horse down a trail.

A graduate of Canyonview Equestrian College, Jenna’s background working with horses, combined with her customer service and restaurant management experience, make her a great asset to our team.
